| Love the SV! Had a look at one today as a matter of fact. Same engine in the V-Strom. How do you find the handling compared with such a thoroughbred as the R1? The Intruder must feel very relaxed compared with either! Just looked again and realised yours is the 1000 SV - I was looking at the 650 today. Nice bikes mate! | |

| cheers mate , the sv handles good most of the time , but it likes to shake its head if your accelerating hard out of corners at about 90 mph , which i very rarely do lol , the sv650 is a cracking bike , and probably handles better than the thousand, the R1 was outstanding at everything , except being comfy and pillion friendly. | |

| Love them all but in particular the GASGAS, I have always had scramblers and often thought about a trial bike but I am to old, to fat and to arthritic to spend my cash in that direction now. Shame, we can still dream. | |

| That is such a smart bike. I know what you mean about the noise - sometimes you want the sound without the volume. I am sure you will get the baffling to your liking eventually. | |

| Hey Sim...
Your bike looks STUNNING.
Can I pick your brains on the sissy bar?
When you fitted the sissy bar, did you use the same mounting points for the hard panniers too?
As you know I've got hard panniers which are pretty similar, which I'll have to temporarily remove to fit the sissy bar I just bought.
Cant decide whether to use the same mounting points for everything, or whether to fit the sissy bar, then drill a couple of holes in it, and hang the pannier brackets off that. Certainly give me more flexibility in the position....
Any thoughts? | |

| Hi Mal, Thanks Yeah Mal I used the same holes,I just got some longer ss allen key dome head bolts, then used ss washers between the pannier brackets and sissy bar to stop it getting scratched, I never take my panniers off but quick release would be handy sometimes. One thing I've been toying with is putting the bolts through from inside, then fitting the sissy bar, then a half chrome nut and washer as a spacer, then the brackets for the panniers and a dome/spike head nut, so it's four nuts to remove the brackets and panniers all in one ? | |

| The ones I'm using now are Viking panniers, Leatherette outside but a solid inner with a metal frame to hold the shape, As for use lol they're always full of stuff from flask, waterproofs, tools, sat nav, spare reg, locks and of course the micro fibre polishing cloth | |

Yeah Dave I painted them with white wall tyre paint, I kept seeing all you guys in the States and Australia with them and couldn't resist. They don't come as standard in the UK but you can get them aftermarket, My tyres only had 3000 miles on them so I couldn't justify renewing them.

Yup. In fact they're sooo much that it should become compulsory for Sim to install one of these at the rear:

| After our little excursion around North Wales On Sunday , I've decided my arms and legs can't cope with the head down arse up riding position any more It was an emotional decision because :what1: I've had it since it was born But it's a sad farewell to a good servant On the plus side though, I've bought one of these to fill the empty space in the garage hopefully it will be a good replacement ? I'm sure the colour will grow on me eventually | |

It's not actually got that screen on it I just used that picture for reference, but I've ordered one It's second hand John, 60 plate but has only covered 1200 miles and it looks like new, I know what you mean about black There was a DL fully kitted out in the shop that caught my eye but I had a 600n Bandit once and loved it, so I thought I'd give the 1250 a go.

| Lol It's Suzuki GSX1250f-st more commonly known as a Suzuki Bandit, They used to be either 600cc or 1200cc but later models are 650 and 1250, the original bandit 1200 un-faired was a bit of a hooligans choice because of it's ability to wheelie,(I went to a wheelie school day and they used 600 bandits) over time they've become more sedate (like me) and used as touring bikes. | |
