Modified rear fender ...... 2003 Suzuki Volusia

So...I've been wanting to violate her from the rear    now for a long time. And yes, I know most of you will probably be disappointed of the outcome, but let me tell you that it took alot staring and picturing in my head of how I was going to trim this fender so it won't look cheesy. Well, I wanted a more trimmed look on the rear to show more rubber(180 tire). It was time to trim off that fat  bell-bottom or duck tail look of the fender. No more turning back!

I was too lazy to take the fender off the bike so I had to fabricate a precision hand cutting tool in order to do the surgery while the fender is on the bike. So this is the outcome...

This is what it looks like today, fit and trimmed...next! ???...Hmmm...

Looks great sanos! I'm a longer fender type because I think it goes better with the spokes on my bike, But with your alloys it certainly looks the part and makes it more balanced with the front fender Keeping the fender on the bike whilst cutting isn't lazy, it gives you a made to measure vice for doing the job

I think it looks bad. You've knackered the rear curvature which shows the most from side view where you got the tire curving away from now a rather pointy looking fender. But that's just my opinion, I love big Indian style fenders and I love Volusia ones.

I congratulate though on great cutting...looks flawless as a diy fabrication. I bet it took some time and a steady hand.

I love the fenders on the VL/C800 but I think on sanos's bike the fenders would not fit in as well with the alloys and white tank? chopping the fenders and painting them black really emphasises the wheels,tank and rear light and it just screams out! "look at me", I get a feeling there's more to come from this bike sanos? from the jobs you've done so far it could be a never ending process

Hi Sanos each to there own don't dislike i just think it would look better rounded off rather than angular there's more curves on the bike than square just my opinion mate

I like what you've done there mate .... I'm not a lover of the big "ducktail " on the rear mudguard ( or the front for that matter ) but I daren't even think about cutting them down coz I just know I'll make a bollocks of it !

No sir. I prefer fists over firearms for conflict resolution. Although I prefer pints of lager above all else to settle disputes.
