Vx800 seized

So travelling to work on Saturday going along he dual carriageway I felt a heavy vibration then the rear wheel locked up I pulled in the clutch and it freewheeled and I let out the clutch again incase it restarted it but no I got it recovered and I have it back at the house I'm going to start stripping it to se if I can free it is there anything specific to look for for example how scored is too scored on the pistons ect? it looks like it has had an oul leak that I never noticed and this may have been the cause any other advice as well would be much appreciated
