VZ800 Starter Control Relay

Trying to figure out what an appropriate replacement for the starter control relay (MMM / Mitsuba RK-0313) would be. I am not able to source a reasonably priced one locally (or at all), and the ebay prices are around $70 CDN.

The name is kind of misleading as the starter control relay relay itself is not a electro mechanical relay but rather a transistor with a bunch of supporting components. There's a video video of someone of someone destructively taking the module to bits, which sheds some light on the internal components. It looks like a relay driver circuit, based around a fairly robust Sanken A1568 power transistor.

Someone on here, in a previous post, had replaced it with an automotive 12V relay, but not much detail was given on the wiring or the long term success of the fix.

Any input or ideas would help.

Testing the RK-0313 with a multimeter, the values deviate slightly from the VZ800 service manual. Far enough off of the stated values that I'm sure something is cooked in this module. Not sure what yet...

I've uncapped the module as best as I could. I still need to remove a lot of the polyurethane potting compound so I can start testing components. No visible rust or scorch marks and the capacitor does not look to have spilled its innards. Here are some high-res images in case you were curious.
