| hey I ended up purchasing a good complete set of 2009 OEM pipes for my bike that has the "Honest Abe" mod for $200 aussie plus $75 freight (ebay of course).... so I hope to have a bit of a sound with the bike, I noticed the lack of a note while riding beside a car and realised his car was easier to hear than my bike so it made me do something about it so l should have them fitted before I head off to the bike rally in a fortnight. | |

| I got to be honest and say I laugh every time I hear people call it the honest abe mod, who the fuck is honest abe and he isn't really very honest if he is trying to claim drilling and puntching holes in an exhaust is down to him. How old it's this bloody guy? People have been doing this since the dawn of the exhaust. So what you have bought in reality is an exhaust that has been drilled and punched, no one called either honest or crooked abe had anything to do with it !
Anyway rant over, I hope you get the decibels your after as they do sound nice when they have been done

| I guess it's up to the individual how he has his bike or exhaust, just as using bad language in a post is. |

| googling Honest Abe firstly gets you know who ..... Abe Lincon but he wouldnt of put holes up his horses anus to get better sound out of it hey anyway there is a raft of others to choose from for different reasons so you can take your pick...... but it was actually me who did that first with the old 90cc scooter I used to have and I sold the idea to Abe for ten quid which he used to imigrate to america .... hope that clears things up a git er bit | |

| Good on you Len, So maybe we should change the name of it for this site to the - Honestly dodgy Len Mod I Remember drilling little holes in a moped I had and it changed the tone from very quiet to sounding like a dodgy fart But the Farty Crash Mod don't sound so good | |

Len, good pick up... Has it got the full mod with the holes punched through the baffles? I drilled mine and it made a little difference, I wasn't game to punch out the baffles as you can't go back from that.

| HI Ozrider,
I understand about the punching holes in your exhausts that was probably the reason I got these too plus a cheap set of pipes for me , they have the full mod with baffles punched through, he said they sounded too harley-ish for his liking he also said they are in an otherwise non marked/scratched state and only had less than 3 months in total on his bike from new in 2010 ........

| Have you fitted them yet? | |

| Subject: not yet Sun May 06, 2012 5:33 am | |
| No they are not fitted as yet as wont arrive for a couple of days........ but that said I might not get a chance to as I am thinking of trading the bike in on a Boulevard M90 (I will check out tomorrow) but if I do that then I wont be able to do the planned cruise to perth (yet), its one or the other and seeing as the son wants to do the perth run together now but not until september ..... soooo, it is looking like I might get the bike upgrade (it used to be computers once hey) now it all depends on the "change over price" ............ and I only have a few days to convince myself on which way to go, why! oh why! is life so complicated | |
