| took battery out today topped it up, put back in only one bar showing on fuel bars although tank nearly full. when switched on all bars show then goes to one every thing else is ok any ideas all connections seem good no smell of fuel or any leaks | |

| The sender unit in the tank isn't stuck is it? try rocking it backwards and forwards? not sure what else it could be sorry? | |

| bike out today all bars now showing on gauge thought maybe some thing had to be reset after battery out but no . on another note the battery took quite a bit of water in all cells, so much for mantinance free | |

| yes must have been a bit of a coincidence having the battery out then it happened that's what thru me a bit | |

Maintenance free, big lie. No lead acid battery is maintenance free, that statement is one they make so that batteries die quicker. If they start making them so that I can't pull the caps off, I will drill holes in to the cells to fill them. Currently they use the same batteries and just stick a maintenance free sticker on them to make you think they are. By the nature of what they are for longevity of life they firstly need periodic topping up and secondly the lead plates desulfating. | |
