Fuel tank compatability VX / VZ

Hi everyone, I have a 1999 Marauder 800 import to the UK. I really need a new fuel tank as my one is very rusty inside.
I have looked on the internet and I can see several tanks for the VZ model. Do you think these will fit my bike please ?

Would a restoration be an option?   How bad is it?

Hi Badger, Thanks for the reply. The tank is just pretty rusty inside although the outside is undamaged.
Are there places that do restoration to clean inside do you know please ?
Also, having looked around on the internet I am still struggling with the difference between the VX and the VZ versions of this bike. I have even looked on a site to check from the PIN number and the result was a VZ, which apparently is not the same !!!!???? as a VX ???

There are a few around, you may find that however shitty it looks to you, it may be a bread and butter job for a specialist company,   Make sure the cost ain't more than a new tank mind.   Don't forget about the colour match of any new tank to your bike.
