After what seems like a Friggin eternity but in reality is but a few weeks, my Vance and Hines performance exhausts have finally arrived. I’ve unpacked them just to make sure everything is as it should be, before repacking them. I will install at the weekend let you know how I get on.

Looking forward to hearing those! If you get a chance to video the debaffled stock before you put them on - and then with the V&H, we can compare.
Would be good if you did the before and after vid with the bike and cam in the same locations for both. That way it would give a truly accurate account of the difference for us to see & hear. Which is something that know one has done on YouTube, they all show us an after but never a truly accurate before and after. PLEEEEEEEEEASE
Ah good shout, will do! To be honest I'm glad you thought of that as I would also like to know the difference, its not quite the same working from memory

Did the video but I think I had my bloody finger over the mic as the second part of the video is slightly muffled so the difference in sound isn’t as much as in reality. These exhausts are dramatically different from the stockers, to the point that when you open her up you have to think about where you are. Sounds great but very loud under hard acceleration. I will do another video asap going around the block to give a proper perspective of noise levels as the following one does not really do it justice

I have added this video, I looked a bit crazy going down the road as I decided to put the camera on a pole sticking out the side of the bike just to add a different perspective.
Although the sound isn't brilliant as I seem to get interference if I put the camera anywhere else other than on the helmet mount, not sure why? The sound seems a little less bassy on the vid than it does in real life.

Brilliant - awesome sound I hear there was an earthquake reading in Swindon today of 7.5 !!!!!!!!!!! Liked your video pole - very cool. But best of all was your riding gear - do you have flesh coloured knee pads? Next thing you need to do is head down to the local bike caff and turn a few heads! (Maybe in your leathers for that trip!) Must be the way to go eventually - the sound is there just waiting to be brought out with pipes like yours. I don't think anyone will be getting in your way either!
PS I use Blue Tac ear plugs on my Bandit with the Scorpion baffles out. If you find the drone at speed is a bit too loud perhaps you might like to try. I bought gel plugs from Boots but the BT is every bit as good and cheap!

Yeah they are loud & I reckon you could be right on the Richter scale thingy
I think I will get a set of baffles for use in the week otherwise there is no way I could be starting the bike at silly O’clock in the morning in the summer when all the neighbours have there windows open. As for the riding gear, bit naughty I know but what you see on the vid was all I rode. I will see how I get on as far as the plugs go

Looks great & sounds greater It was good the way you did the video which allowed me to flick back and forward between the stock exhaust & the V&H Cruzers. I really like the V&H Cruzers, I think they are probably the most the most conducive aftermarket exhaust for the C800. I bet your well chuffed, I know I would be
Had a Power Commander fitted to my bike today to go wtth the V&N cruzers which were put on about 3 weeks ago,I did have the co2 sensor fitted into the new exhausts hoping the fuelling would be sorted, everything seemed to be fine the bike ran very much the same some backfiring only problem I couldn't stop wondering if the fuelling was ok and not too lean and therefore maybe causing engine damage. So for peace of mind I shelled out and had the PC fitted am I glad I did the differance is unreal it has smoothed all the rough edges out and the backfiring as almost gone, totally differant feel to the bike now.
Just putting on an aftermarket exhaust without addressing fuel will never make a bike run better, I fitted my V&H and fuel processor at the same time (ish) so I noticed a massive difference Back firing can be sorted very easily by either a complete pair valve removal or by blocking it. I have a bit of a back fire at times when releasing the throttle but it's not an issue so I will sort it when I can be bothered.
I doubt it was that lean but if it's pushed you towards getting your baby running the way she really wants & should do, then alls good

I fitted the Vance &Hince straighshots and the bike did not run great (back fireing and it was a bit slugish) so i fitted a power comander and she runs and sounds great !! The pipes did not have a bit for the co cesor to go so i bought a gizmo that fools it into thinking it is fitted !!! Oh i also fitted a K&N filter so she can breath a lot better !! I got her set up on a rolling road and what a great performer she is now !!

Aftermarkets really do make a massive difference, the bike goes well straight out of the factory but the aftermarkets transform the bike.

Couldn't agree more. The only downside is trying to leave/return to the neighbourhood without sounding like one of the brigade. But once you are on the open road the snarl of that gorgeous engined amplified through hardly restricted pipes is one of life's great pleasures IMHO.
