| Here you can see how the plastic moulding which holds indicators, rear number plate etc had split right through along the crease (this is the M800 'fishtail' model) From February 25, 2012" border="0" /> The metal 'u section' bracket which screws to the number plate would screw to this. So bike unroadworthy Didnt have any sheet metal in stock to make a bracket, but did have one of these chunky brackets (bright plated steel I think) From February 25, 2012" border="0" /> After a bit of flattening, hacksawing & filing, made 2 brackets & pop riveted these to the metal u channel/number plate assembly: From February 25, 2012" border="0" /> From February 25, 2012" border="0" /> Then used a couple of nice large headed allen bolts to screw this to the original plastic housing on the bike: From February 25, 2012" border="0" /> Job done... and beats spending £70 on a new plastic housing, which would probably have been a pig to fit. | |

| Excellent, always feels good when you do a job yourself and save a few bobs or in this case lots of bobs | |

| You're spot on Chris! It felt very bodge like when I was at the 'hacksaw & file' stage, but by the time I'd finished, especially with the large flat headed bolts, it looks really good. Alters the angle of the number plate a bit (less vertical now) but I like that.

| Good job, BigMals tail tidy mod Keep an eye on it though just to ensure the metal isn't getting stressed due to vibration & wobble, I reckon it'll be good as gold though A good bodge is a work of art and takes a bit more thinking about than the easy route people with money take. | |

| It goes to show that make do and mend is still very much an English preoccupation, very well done Sir. | |
