| I have just purchased a set of Renegade crash bars from Mike at Custom Cruisers... and he gave me 5% discount as I mentiuoned this forum! ........ and they have arrived. Having a little trouble with mounting them.... does anyone know if the lower mount goes inside the front mounting bolt of the foot pegs. This is the only way I can see that they would fit... but it also means that the foot peg will be pushed out (by the thickness of the mount ~ 3mm) once installed. Can anyone advise please? Thanks! | |

| All fitted now; had to take off the foot pegs and mount the crash bar tabs inside. This has pushed the footpegs out by 3mm or so, but I don't think I'll notice the difference. A bit reassured about dropping it now (touch wood will never happen!) However, I cannot now get the bike down the side of my house and out the gate without taking the bar end weights off everytime!!!!! Need to move house? | |

| Excellent, glad to hear you have it all sorted Crash bars are a must in my book, the damage that they can save your bike from is untold. | |

| I can only assume my crash bars were not made for my bike, here is the bracket I made one for each side.If you look at were the crash bar comes to there is no way it would fit behind or in front of the peg,it would not even line up with the frame, this is the same both sides. The width of the crash bar is 1 1/2" which also makes it awkward for highway pegs most only go up to 1 1/4".The good thing is with a bit of fabrication most things will fit. By the way the bracket that was made is the small one,not the welded one.The spacer was attatched to keep everything in line.Ippikin you mention the bar end weights getting in your way, can't you make cutouts in the gateway to make it easier for yourself,or ride without them. | |

Thought of that but wife wasn't impressed! Will probably look at some aftermarket grips without weights such as Mr I has got. Thanks for all your suggestions! | |
