Moving Number Plate on Suzuki VL800

Has anyone moved there number plate? Was just doing some measuring for sissy bags and where the number plate is would mean either a luggage rack that will be above the current plate, or moving the number plate

I am not exactly sure how your model is setup as far as brackets & fixings go but having just glanced at the rear end of a VL I would probably:
Remove the licence plate from the mount. Remove the mount. remove the large rectangular red reflector between the indicators and fix the plate there. I would then buy a couple of cheap led lights like this LINK to illuminate the plate.

Yeah that would maybe work! Cheers. Was looking at Side mounts but it seems more hassle than its worth

Also just noticed I can make my number plate a little smaller and stil be legal.

That looks a lot better than the stick up ones of the pre 2005 vl800s

Looks so much nicer when its been moved.

It almost seemed like the 2000-2004 models had the licence plate put on as an after thought, must agree that looks so much better. I was just reading that number plate don't even have to have white light to illuminate them in the UK, any colour is exceptable
