Home Made Windshield Lowers ........ Suzuki Intruder

Fitted these to the bike last year. Not been able to try them out yet as still not able to drive due to my head injury. Made some before when I had my Kawasaki Drifter and they worked well.

Looks good and clearly saves a lot of cash as these things are expensive
Out of curiosity I have seen a few members using thick clear plastic, where do you guys get it from. Everywhere I have seen it, the expense of it blows me away

Thanks for the pics Dave very useful mod indeed. Crash I get mine from work for free, we use it for covering leaded windows on listed buildings to stop vandals throwing bricks through them, it's about £130 for an 8x4 sheet of 6mm lexan, dunno what work pay for it though? probably half that.

Your right it costs an arm and leg in the diy shops, I will have to hope I just come across some somewhere.

Good pics Dave,made some but must admit did not work to well for me,must be the fact I have the small screen fitted.The conclusion I came up with was the fact that with the small screen it was not practible to fit the lowers under the screen.Made the hand guards a bit ago and are still fitted.

You could always throw a brick at what looks like a leaded window on a listed building, and see what lands at your feet

i had'nt thought of that good idea I'll give it a try.

I made and fitted these lowers today. Can anyone spot the undeliberate mistake?

Looks very good to me Ray.

The aluminum bars slotted the same making the clamp on left side lower than the right side.

Bloody hell Tex! you must have eyes like a shithouse rat! I'd have never noticed that, I was thinking along the lines of expired tax disc

Like a friend of mine used to say. Grampaw Goofy couldn't see it going by in a lope.

Yeah you got it Tex, I will have to make another bracket to even it up.

Looks good Ray. I like the shorter brackets. I think it makes it look neater. Also like the way you angled the end of the brackets.. Believe it or not I noticed it before i saw the comment that you made a mistake.

Yes, it's an old rug, I like to give the bike some home comforts.
Did you also notice the bike is kept in the garage and the car is outside?

When you know yourself that you have made an error it bugs the hell out of you I know but to be honest ray if you was out and about nobody would notice. You did a good job mate
Make sure you let us know how you get on with them or if you have had to make any adjustments even if that is just raising them or changing the angle

I did think that myself it sticks out like a sore thumb to me but like you say most would not notice, I will make a new bracket some time.
Went for a short run today they seem fine and they have cut the head buffeting down quite alot.

Gave the bike a service today, also made left hand bracket mark 2. Evens it up don't you think?
