Yes but don't leave it on more than overnight. It's a suggestion to obtain a trickle charger that you can plug in for a low steady rate if you don't use the bike every day or eventually work your way up to an Optimate which will be attachable to your bike & keep it charged up & also de-sulphate the battery & you can plug it into the system at night after you've used it during the day or for long term use over winter for instance.
