I'm Taylor from Canada.

I signed up here with hope that I may be able to get my VZ800 starting again. It was running fine, shut down, and now it only cranks and fires slightly but won't start. It's extremely frustrating.

I'm going to search the topic and see what I can find, I may end up creating a new thread.

Nice to hear from Canada ...... last over there in 2005 - Travelled from States to Vancouver Island, then up past whistler to Jasper, down to Banf and back into to States via Glacier Park .... took in the longest 'free' ferry ride in Canada - with a few other (Canadian) bikers. Me & the 'Boss' (Good lady) were on a rented GL1800 (30th Annivedsary) Gold Wing ..... well I was getting ready for being 'old' !
The full trip was just short of 11 000 miles in a month ! .... not sure if my ageing body is up to that these days !

My VX800 was a bit slow to start after the winter lay up ..... I always crank the motor to get oil pressure up before actually starting a long laid up motor. It gives things an easy time if you take the spark plugs out as you crank up the oil pressure (Till the light goes out). That ensures everything is oiled before the engine fires up. (If you are lazy, & have a good battery, you could leave the plugs in & no choke on ! ... & you should get the oil pressure up before it will actually fire up).

Always best to have a fully charged battery when doing first start ups after winter.

Anyway - I guess you are now up & running - so enjoy the riding season
