Hi this is my new ride,has done 3000 miles on a 59 plate.

Nice, I sat on one a few weeks ago. Thinking about it.

Hi Alfie,

Nice bike for some touring fun .... & it has the 700cc fuel injected motor. My mate got a low mileage 700cc Transalp last year & is very pleased with it (He's had a 600cc & 650cc Transalp in the past) .... but is well impressed with the latest version. The NT700 will be the same in terms of how it has developed from the 650 version. Better engine flexibility, better brakes (ABS as standard ?), Well developed combined braking system. The Deauville is a very under-rated bike ... most people pass them off as a bit bland (So wrong !) .... but if you are touring it will keep pace with anything in sensible tour riding, but be rewarding in many other ways - easy to ride, good on fuel (compared to some other 'tourers'), decent comfort & weather protection. Also good for a fun general run-about

Thanks for the comments,the bike is sound.have done a couple of mods already,lowered the rear shock with a hyperpro link kit,gives you approx 35mm lower,also chopped the seat so that is lower,then took 12mm off the side stand and rewelded the foot back on to give me the lean angle when parking,Up to now have left the main stand dont use it much anyway.Must admit do miss the Intruder already,but on saying that have got to get used to this one now, they are a lazy bike great for doing just what you want and no more,but the brakes are second to none,dual linked full abs and do work.

Good to read that the old Alfie wasn't sold with the old bike & he carries on modding. Glad your enjoying the bike.

Nice to hear you are getting along with your new ride, & doing some sensible mods to suit your needs.
My mate Steve got a 700 Transalp, & he was also well impressed with the brakes - combined & ABS - these modern touches are a way forward - but I'm living in the past as none of my bikes have such features - so I do get the occasional reminder of how bad my riding is (locking of wheels in heavy braking situations etc.) Maybe one day I will get up to date .... but I like my VX too much to part with it !!!!
