My introduction to myself: My daughter gave me a 97 Intruder 800 that only has 6500miles on it, after I recently sold my last Harley. First thing we noticed after taking it off the trailer is a very small leak, leaving a small oil spot on the garage floor. Thought it was from the water pump, but it seems more to the center of the bottom of the bike. It takes about 24hrs to create a small spot on the floor after cleaning it up, but I am still at loss as to where it is coming from. Haven't registered it yet, so I can't take it to a shop. And I know everyone understands how hard it is to get under it to see, since it is so low to the ground. Otherwise the bike starts right up and sounds real good. Oh, my introduction: I'm in my 70's and retired. I've been riding on and off since the 1970's and in several countries. I have spent about half my life overseas and enjoyed riding and seeing the different parts of the world. My daughter and her family ALL ride when they have time. Looking forward to learning more about this bike. I have never owned a Suzuki before so it will be an interesting learning experience. I have already started "personalizing" the bike, starting with removing the passenger back rest, which is difficult for me to swing my leg over. Thanks for making this forum available.

Hi. Could be as simple as a new crush washer for the oil drain. Do not over tighten that bolt. An older, unused bike may also have issues with rubber tubes, hoses, washers etc, perishing.
