straight through pipes diy

hi all i thought i would post a couple of pics of this mornings project of home made straight through pipes
i removed the old silencers and capped the balance tube on the upper header pipe. then slid some new gaskets from a honda nx650 j-r 88-94 which have the correct i.d and an o.d of 34mm.
i then cut and notched the end of 2 300mm pieces of 38mm o.d  316 stainless tube with a 1.5mm wall thickness and slid it over the gasket and clamped it up.
then cut and notched 2 pieces of 2 inch 316 stainless tube and notched it to clear the clamps and slid over the 38mm tube and bolted it through the 38mm and 2 inch pipe.  then mirror polished it all.

im going to cut off the balance tube and weld the hole up when i get some gas for my mig.

i hope this makes sense it does to me !!
some pics of end product and it now sounds like it should, going to fettle the carb settings this afternoon.

They look good, bargain price too!

Ah, I can see it now (thanks for that!). Great sound, like a v-twin should be. Much safer in traffic!
