I just bought a used Kuryakyn Infinity Streamliner cover for the hypercharger:
Now, I know it's just a shiny toy, but me being me, it needs improving. A long, long time ago, I was an electronics engineer. It's getting refitted with new LEDs and a controller that will be connected to the ignition, so the lights will chase each other round the cover, but the speed will follow engine revs...
Well, it should keep me out of trouble for a bit, at any rate.

OK, so I just got an Arduino microcontroller and the new LEDs arrive tomorrow. My guess is it will take around 50 LEDs, so I'm thinking...
Break it into 3 segments. At tickover, there is just one red LED lit in each segment, and the three LEDs are evenly spaced around the ring and chase each other slowly clockwise (I'm thinking about 1 rev per second). As the revs rise, a second then third, fourth and so on LED lights, so the rotating lit blocks get bigger and bigger until eventually they are all lit apart from three that are off, but chasing each other. The speed of rotation also increases with the revs, up to about 4 or five revs per second. If any of that makes sense.
Also, I'm thinking, as the revs rise, the colour changes from red to orange, to yellow to white.
Thoughts? Is this just going to look tacky?

If you like it? That's all that matters, it be crap if we all rode identical bikes! Plus it'll pass the time whilst this crappy weather fucks off.

It's alive! It's alive! Just got to add a regulator and hook it up to the ignitor on the bike!
