| Does any know how to replace the rear sprocket bolts on a VZ800 Marauder? Fitting a new chain and sprockets and one of the rear sprocket nuts is badly rounded and wont come loose. I have tried hammering a smaller socket onto it but it just spun off. I am wondering if I just grind it flush with the sprocket is it then just a case of knocking the remains of the bolt out and dropping in a new one, or would I need to get it pressed out and new one pressed in. | |

| Grind the head off then punch it out with a suitable punch & go to the bolt stockist you're bound to know locally & get a replacement & your away. | |

| Thanks for the speedy reply Peter. That's what I'm hoping will happen, ordered new sprocket nuts from Wemoto last night. Will order new bolts now and give it a go. | |

| OK, so today I tackled the rounded sprocket nut. Cut the nut of with my angle grinder and the remains of the bolt fell out the back sprocket carrier. No hammering, punching or pressing needed. New bolt inserted, fitted new chain and sprockets and good to go. | |

| Got the chain and sprocket done, rear brake stripped, cleaned, lubed and reassembled. Then moved on to the chain guard, one of the phillips head screws that secures it had refused to budge and I ended up drilling the head off with a 7mm bit, I then used a 4mm bit to try and drill through before moving to a larger drill. I applied pressure and boom I was through. The drill had gripped the remains of the screw and spun it out the back of the swing arm with no damage to the threads. Must be my lucky day, no work tomorrow so having a couple of beers to celebrate a good days spannering. | |
