Hi I'm Haydn from Sydney, Australia.
I own a 1985 VS750 Intruder and a 1990 VX800.
I've only had the VX for a couple of weeks, bought it for AUD $400 with rego til July.
The VX is pretty rough looking but it runs and rides well. All I've had to do was do the fork seals and replace the fan switch.
I'll probably have lots of questions, hence why I joined this forum!

Hi Haydn, Welcome. I am a Sydney-sider as well, I have had a Savage 650, VX800 and now an Intruder 1400.
The VX is a great bike, I stripped mine down and converted it into a cruiser:
I have a few parts left from the build (both wheels, tyres, triple tree, front chin spoiler) if they are any use to you, let me know.

Thanks Gary, wow! What a great trio of bikes! I had to do a double take on your VX, incredible job on turning it into a cruiser! Seriously looks amazing man. Definitely be interested in the chin spoiler, it’s one of the things I wanted to do to mine.

Cheers Hadyn,
Thanks, the Savage underwent some modification as well, stretching out 4":
And the 1400 even more at 8":
Let me know if you want to see any parts, I am in the Northern Beaches.

That 1400 has a real Swedish vibe about it. Love it. The Savage was a belt drive, yea? Almost bought one many moons ago, looks a solid machine.

Hi Badger, yes the Savage is a big belted unit, with a 40mm or over 1&1/2" wide belt. With a 650cc single cylinder it was light weight with plenty of power to keep up with the big boys. It was also pretty easy to ride and forgiving enough to be a perfect learners bike. Even today I get an constant smile if I get to take it for a spin.
