H There I am new on the forum and was wondering if someone could help, just bought the VS 800 and it is popping throug the rear cylinder exhaust od the overrun during and during decelaration. Its not really a backfire, also when idling the only way I can describe it is its like the rear carb is "sneezing" thats as close as I can come to what the sound is like. Other than that the bike runs great. can anyone help. PS I have a VS750 and it doesn't do this. I did notice that the 750 has a balance pipe between the exhausts whereas the 800 doesn't. Thanks in advance Rodger

My 96 ' VS800 has balance pipe. IT's right under the battery. Concerning the popping rear cyl it is most probably due to a lean mixture. Another sign is more colored exhaust pipe after the head of that cylinder. This complaint seems to be very common for these engines as I know.
