That be true Sir and if you''re getting a mixed bag as well, I stand corrected Re other comments, that's absolutely true... enjoyment is key.. and I sometimes take it to extremes as nipping out to Morrisons for milk just so I can fire the bike up and open it up a bit. (it's 4 minutes away from my home haha) I went out to mate's leaving do yesterday in town and just cruised around the town afterwards as it was so lovely I didn't want it to end. (clear sky and sun at 7pm..who would've thought!) I'm addicted and I'm very happy to give in to that addiction whenever I can

We are fortunate in America though, in terms of biking. Summers tend to be days on end of warm sunny weather with long stretches of open highways and tons of scenic back roads. We have a great route the runs along the Mississippi river and riding along the coasts, especially the California coast, is amazing. For most of us the roads scenery and weather that you guys have over there for biking are what dreams are made of and its nice when we read where you guys are going or have been

| For people like me reading the names of the places that our American cousins tell us they are going to or have been to is very romantic. Places most of us only hear or read about in the movies. | |

| That is an excellent seat Dave, really compliments the bike, looks like it grew there, has now opened up the riding of the Intruder to people with short legs, Hmm! / Alfie if you are thinking of having a go at making a seat have a look at Kott motorcycles making a cafe racer seat part 1 on You tube, this will be the way I make the seat for project Virago, regards to all Doc Cox | |

| Just installed a Saddlemen Profiler seat on my bike today. Looks awesome but it's quite firm. Weather's too crappy to go for a ride today but I went around the parking lot for a minute and I love the seating position it puts you in. It's nowhere near as soft and cushy as my Mustang touring seat though. I'll get on it tomorrow or Sunday for a bit and see how it feels when riding for awhile. | |

Do they break in and get a bit softer over time? I'm spoiled by my Mustang touring seat. It's like driving a couch. I don't mind the firmness for riding hard and riding around town, but I'm not sure how nice it would be to ride on a 600 mile round trip.

| I've not had mine long enough to give a honest answer to that Jambo? I would have thought it will soften up a bit with time and use though, even though mines firm, I'd still say it's comfier than the standard seat but probably nowhere near a Mustang touring seat. | |

| So I took the bike out for a bit yesterday and I do like the seat. It i so much firmer than the Mustang but oddly (I'm assuming because of the gel material it's made out of) it doesn't transfer any of the engine vibration at all. It actually is quite comfortable for such a firm seat. I will say that due to the change in riding position I will absolutely have to put on a set of forward controls. | |

| I read somewhere that although people expect gel seats to be soft they are always very firm but they make the rider a lot more comfy over long distances because of the way they soak up and distribute the weight, very clever stuff. So that would kind of make sense with the vibration you mention as well | |

Makes sense. I never really expected it to be soft, I just didn't know it was going to be this firm. But it's ok, I like it. I'm completely used to it now.

| Hello,
Apologies for commenting on a very old thread. I love the look of the saddelmen profiler. When i contacted Saddlemen i was told they did not make a version for my bike?
I ride a VL800 K8, 2008 model, does anyone know if this is duff news or if there is a mod?
Thanks | |

| Try Custom Cruisers or Chrome Cruisers or Metric Cruisers, google them & if you get lucky ask if they still give any discount to members of this group including you ok? | |
