| As I wait for my new grips to arrive I am back to pondering the idea of a better horn, I have a Steibel dual set from a previous ride. I was looking at putting them on and saw that I would have to remove the radiator to get at the stock horn. That is something I don't want to get into doing. So I am pondering how wise it would be to add the horns and rewire the (stock)switch through the distribution box so i could unwire it if I wanted. So I am in need of suggestions on were to place the distribution box and the horns. Other items to go via the box will be gear indicator, power outlet, grip warmers and possibly a couple of other things not thought of yet. Ok so I need a head check too! The box will have it's own switch and fuse. | |

| Thanks, very useful. I will be fitting two to start and the same place as you did. Now I need to work out the best place for the box. | |

| This diagram shows how I will have it wired, so the relay will go close to the battery. I will have grips. gipro and power socket. vest would be nice.(image from http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/generic/_img/relay/relay-diagram-final.jpg) | |

This gives the impression that the wiring shown above is different to the wiring in the link Mr I gave, where in fact they are exactly the same bar the block. The position of the relay along the loom is neither here nor there. (pointed out so as not to confuse someone looking for advice)I would also advise that a small auxiliary fuse box rather than a simple block connector would be a much better way of wiring in your horn if it is as suggested being wired in with various other items. The stebel alone draws 18 amps, so to have that on the same tap as heated grips, gipro, power socket and heated vest would be potentially a massive power draw. | |
