LED accent lights in purple - What do you think?

Still pondering some LED accent lights in purple.... What do you think of these folks?



 They are 30cm strips, but not the ones with a silicone casing like the blue ones Mr I had flagged up in an earlier post. Only water resistant so I wondered about running them in some clear tube with the ends sealed with a blob of clear silicone.

Really like then Mal, should give a nice glow to your bike and purple always looks great, where are you planning on putting them on the bike

Good idea on the tubing Mal  They should look cool on your bike 

I like what you have planned Mal and as Tex & crash have already expressed I very much like the purple light from LED's & believe they will be good to get into very tight area's. Have you seen these type of LED's close up and are you happy with the build and sturdiness quality of them for the places that you plan to put them on your motorcycle? Why put these in to some tubing when for basically the same money you can buy the ones that are already in a good quality housing such as I have used in my thread such as these LINK. You can buy various lengths and they can be cut to a shorter required length if required.

I rode  back from Midland one night and as I was ready to get on the I 20.About 1/4 mile ahead another bike was getting on. He had his entire bike lit up with purple accent lites. There was no missing seeing him. He rode on out ahead of me about 1/2 - 3/4 mile. I followed him about 40 miles and never lost sight of him. 
 Purple is good 

Purple is a very good colour to use as it can not be confused with other lights and looks amazing, thinking about adding some on my bike.

Good point Dave - those ones with a protective housing would be even better, but I havent found any in purple, just blue.... I'll keep looking :)        (got bugger all else to do.... Mrs BigMal is glued to Strictly :aghh: )

The more I think about your choice of colour the more I likes it  

Cheers Crash. The challenge is finding some that are a true purple rather than a pink.

Ideally I would have liked the ones with the chunky "clear lego" protection like Dave's blue ones - very rugged. 

The closest I can find are the ones below, which at first glance looks like the standard tape with exposed LEDs, but on closer inspection it has a domed clear plastic coating along its length. Worth a punt on 3 or 4 to try I think!

The good thing about LED's nowadays is they are so cheap that it's worth taking a punt on any at all.
