Found an old mirror so decided to drill a pair of holes in it,then chop it up to make a pair of pannier locks.

This is the finished item,the allen key will be replaced with a small lock tomorrow,just a bit more security when I use the bike and leave it unattended.

Cant they just pull the ends of the bags up to see whats inside?

No to your question CC,that is the reason I put I placed the lock were it is,the sides go up to the top and have velcro fitted.If I had made it easy on myself and gone for one lock at one of the ends,then the other end could have been opened a lot easier,good point made by you as I had thought on similar lines,plus only had one mirror with thread either end to use as anchor points.Basicly it just deters opportunist thieves as Simbo stated.
