| 10amp fuse blew yesterday while I was out, anyway, I have a pdf copy of the manual but the wiring schematic is not a good copy with lines missing and words blurred, has anyone got a schematic for a 1990 VX800, mine is an import from Switzerland (I think) but I think the UK ones are the same, I think its only the US and Jap versions that are different.
I have ordered some spare 10amp fuses but everything seems to be working ok but I just want to check a few things.

| Hi Andrew, Here is the 'For the other models' wiring diagram scanned from my original Suzuki Workshop manual - which yours (& mine) will probably be. The other options being 'For USA & Canada Models' OR 'For W German Model' You can pic up the image from photobucket & view it enlarged - you should be able to print it out in A3 format if you have access to such a printer. Hope that helps ! Yam | |

| Thanks. Just had a quick look at the drawing, its Fuse 4 that blew:
Fuse 4 (10Amp) - Indicators, Brake Light, Horn, Instrument lights and rev counter, number plate light and side light, I recon with lights on (front 5w, number pate 5w, rear 5w & instruments about 6w), brake light on (21w) and indicators on (2x21w) about 84w which is about 7amps.
Will keep an eye on it, it was p*****g it down so water could have got in I suppose, at least they are dead easy to get at, seat off and that's it.

| Hi Andrew, Yep ... it might just be a 'one-off' fuse blowing - lets hope so. As you say the fuses are easy enough to get to, but it the problem persists you will have to explore a bit more. Could just be corrosion on an odd connector that you might get away with a quick clean up. I'd guess at looking at the rear lights & indicators first (& would include a check on the rear brake switch). Hope you've got things sorted for now - Bit worrying if you had lost both the rear & brake lights - as a dozy car driver could run into you ! Yam | |
