Well, this machine was purchased when hubby was unable to "get his leg over" Guzzi California due to medical problems. (Shut up Yam and Simbo!)
The step through action would allow him to ride and having no worries about gears etc would give him freedom of road.
I have NEVER been a lover of scooters but guess who had to test ride and fill with petrol? Anyway, this strange creature was duly mounted and twist and grip taken on board, hated it from first minute but job had to be done.
Went to local Asda store and filled with petrol, on way back and on windy back road leading home suddenly realised I was travelling in excess of speed limit and how easy it was to do so.
Took it down later for new MOT, halfway home, it stopped! Brought home by our coverage with GEM (recommended) and sat in garden for a further two years with MOT certificate attached.
We have now, stripped it down to bare bones, had new tyres fitted and after some investigation by a man who knows, he discovered that some wiring was loose and now it starts first time every time, needs tidying but is a runner and can go like the proverbial off a blanket!
This brings me to the dilemma we have, I would like to see the back of this, hubby is still not comfortable on the California, which we have spent codgels of money on and the Volusia is available but needs seating assistance.
What to do???
Peardrop, if you would like a look let me know. Can get MOT done if necessary.
Anyone else have suggestions???
Ta very much

Would love to but this week we're busy Valerie with the funeral & numerous other things & not including going away next Friday to France. Will be back week commencing 8th if you want to hold it till then? I'll PM you ok?
The 400 Burgman is a clever bit of engineering, not really my thing, but my buddy Steve did use to hanker after one. They have a good reputation in the USA .... & quite a following over here - so you should be able to move it on - if that's what you wish to do. (Or fix it yup if your hubby still fancies using it - though with such a passage of time since you last used it, I guess he ain't that keen !
Interesting Mal, That trike clip is at Curbourgh Sprint near Lichfield, spent many a happy day there in the past campaigning either my 'mod-sport' single seater or our ex-circuit kneeler with tuned Suki GT750 kettle engine (Run on Castrol R of course !) ..... aaaaaahhhh .... those were the days !
You sound just like the man for the job... Get your spanners out. I saw one in the flesh at a kit are show a while back... Bit puny looking, but I bet sat that close to the ground it feels quite poky. Designed by Stuart mills of MEV fame, but then sold on to another bloke...
Reminds me of the 'Greenwood Mini'. A chap called Greenwood put a mini engine in a threewheeler ( 2 front 1 at rear ) and raced it against sidecars...this must be back in the 70's. The traditional sidecars couldn't live with it and it caused a lot of bad feeling. Eventually they legislated that a sidecar outfit must only make two tracks and the Greenwood was banned.
That's Interesting .... 'cos at speed-climb & sprinting events they allow 3-wheelers to run with sidecar/outfits ...... & that included classic 'Morgan' 3-wheelers & the modern JZR 3-wheelers that were powered by Honda CX500/650 engines. The JZR was made in Darwen (Lancashire) ..... & they did some other engine variants ...... including an ST1100 (V-4 Pan European engine).
Sorry Auntie Valerie ........ digression seems to be an age related problem .... we really should have stated another thread.
The AN400 is of course an interesting machine in its own right & a great commuter that can pack in some decent distance. Far superior to most 'scooters'. My mate Steve had a soft spot for the Burgman & I would have thought you would have got some interest for it from the forum.
sim stop getting me in trouble for gawds sake cos i'm in enough trouble with rosie without aunty Valerie making voodoo dolls!!!

OK Guys and gals, this machine still sitting in my front garden, if you wish to pay me and remove it from my property I will be forever happy, I am looking for around £250 and yes it needs work, yes it needs pampering and yes I need it gone. ANY TAKERS?
Seems like only yesterday this was put on here but no it is a year
Funny thread this one Valerie but I think you've sorted them guys out now, Burgman's are an extremely good scooter, I've ridden one, good luck with the sale, should sell especially being the 400cc
The infirment was that Aunty Valerie has voo doo dolls of some of us in her possession & I think 'I'll pop' will be what I do if I fall foul of this lovely lady! (bs, bs, bs he he he.....)
Ooooh ooooh now that's a good idea Mal but you do realise that Kings Lynn is the Bermuda triangle of the UK & I'm likely to drive into one of those big dikes they have & disappear forever!
