Wider tires

Hello ! So here goes my first topic.

I'd like to put on wider tires on my VZ bobber. Especially the rear. Today i have the stock 170/80-15 Rear and 130/90-16 Front.

What are my options ?

Options are what ever you want mate front end I'm guessing normally is change your yokes to wider ones then your forks will take a wider front wheel just a thought but I wonder what size front wheel a vz 1500cc has? or the VZR 1800 but basically any yoke/triple tree that has the same size bolt to fit your frame will work but the yokes might need forks with  a larger diameter the triple tree could come from any bike I suppose?? hopefully someone else will give you an answer I would imagine the best or maybe cheapest place to get bit's is of eBay as they tend to brake a lot of bikes and sell all the parts on there.

Pretty sure you can go up 10mm on each tyre/tire without anything rubbing or catching, ie, 180 rear and 140 front (not sure there is a 140 made though?)  have a look through the forum, It's been asked and done before 

The 800 handles pretty neat. Wider rear tyres on customs usually means cool and better in straight lines. The cornering may not be so good. Your choice. In truth slightly bigger rear won't make much difference visually or practically. Go really big for impact (240?  ) but you will need a larger wheel and other mods. I'm pretty sure it's been done on here. Try a search. Good luck! Someone told me 16" bars were too tall but I did it anyway and loved the result! Cost is the only real obstacle to modifying your motorcycle! Added value returns will be lower than your personal pleasure.
