| Looking for something else to do during the off months, and noticed the pitting of the chrome on the backs of my short mirrors while giving the bike a wash, so I figured something more stylish and a little wider so I could see around my own shoulders, would be a fitting project. Since nothing I found beyond plain mirrors weren't any longer/wider reach, I decided on these color coordinated extensions in red off the bat, to hopefully get me a little wider angle with the standard length fare offerings:
Riser extenders
Then, I couldn't decide what would look better or get me the best view, so I ordered one set of each of these, and figured I can switch between them as I liked, or just pick the best ones and stick with them...
Skeleton Skull Mirrors
I found the same skeleton hand ones everywhere online, but at this price difference, (saw some at 5 times that amount, that looked identical!), it's worth the wait for everything to come from China, as it's not like I'm not going out on the road anytime in the next couple weeks anyway. I got all of this for about $35, which is less than a lot of places wanted for one set of mirrors, and the reviews were decent on the lot, so I guess we'll see how things pan out in a couple weeks when they arrive. I'll post some pictures of both setups, and see what the arena of professional opinions thinks before I decide on the winner. It may just come down to the ones that let me see properly behind me...

| Ooooh, this page has gone very groovy..... probably those very long links!
Those will look cool on your bike!
When I looked at the image in the Ebay listing, all the measurements were backwards! Must be mirror image!!

| Nah Mal; you're just on the wrong side of gravity! It IS an "image of mirrors" however! Not sure why one link from eBay was so much longer than the other? But the 2nd one seems to have vanished as well? I'll post it here again and see... Link | |

| Actually got out for about an hour and half yesterday, (long-johns and leather needed with it just over 50F here), and got to road test these mirrors. The view area is obviously smaller compared to the factory units, and the pivots were extremely tight for adjustments, but even with the extenders, they barely reach a position where I could see behind me, so vision wasn't great with the shrunken panorama. STILL waiting for the other set I ordered to come from China! In fairness, the estimated delivery did say as late as April 2nd when I ordered them, but seeing that I've gotten everything else I ordered that day, (mid February!), a couple weeks ago, I really didn't anticipate it taking quite this long, (figured more of a cushion on their part to allow sufficient time), but if not here by then, will have to pursue things with eBay where I ordered them. | |

| So I gave up on the other mirrors I ordered from China, and got a refund after they said my second shipment also got lost, (couldn't even confirm a ship date; terrible seller!), then ordered the same ones from Amazon, which I received in less than a week! The reason I didn't order them from Amazon the first time was because they were nearly twice the price, and I figured I could wait the few weeks on the China ones to save the money. I had some credit card points built up with Amazon, so I got these for $10 instead of the $18 they were charging. I think I kinda like the styling of these, (even though they don't have the cool skeleton hands!), and they seem a little less shaky at high speed than the skeleton ones, (had an ambulance coming up behind me on the freeway on my way to work last week, and at 70 mph, all I could see was a blur of white and red tracers in the skeleton mirrors). I have these ones on now to test out for a while. Opinions anyone? And Mal, as advertised; Smoke and mirrors! | |
