two into one exhaust

my mufflers on my m50 have lost their chrome and look terrible. I am thinking of trying a two into one car type muffler. a stainless locally made one is far cheaper than two stock suzuki ones. has anybody done this?

Hello, I know it dose not help you but Its a pity you're not in the UK, I have a set of pipes taken off a 2007 M800 when it was two-month-old and Vance & Hines were  fitted, the pipes are like new.
