These look interesting: Link
Here they are in action on a car.
Could be useful addition to a motorcycle exhaust system!
Or maybe a DIY mechanical set-up like this guy made!

Looks very interesting that , Not much different to your lollipop mod in a way, Don't you just love the sound of V8's and V6's though, Music to the ears for sure.

My lollipop worked ok but you had to get off the bike to make any adjustment. Imagine being able to do it whilst riding!

Yes but also imagine just how much work and possibly cost would need to go into a motorcycle exhaust so that it was not only functional but also didnt look like a home made bodge job. Lollipop is something anyone could do at next to if not a zero cost and doesn't detract from the look of the bike.

National Cycle in the USA make a system called The Peacemaker, not yet available for Suzuki, which does the same. Me personally, I like my exhaust obscenely loud and will leave it that way lol

That's because your a truly bad arsed biker Martin & apart from that who the feck would risk telling a nasty looking biker that is taller than a standard door opening their exhaust is too loud. ............

It's a funny one this, There's a oldish guy rides past my house on an old BSA most weekends and it's got to be one of the loudest bikes I've ever heard But you just stand and admire it and think yeah he's cool with his goggle's and leather helmet on , But five mins later a scooter with a noisy exhaust will go past and I automatically think Cock !!! Nothing to do with noise control I know, It's just the way I think, Funny really as I've never owned a bike where the standard exhaust has stayed on it, wether it be 50cc two stroke or 4stroke four or twin ? Sorry just rambling on.

I agree, moped exhausts are horrendous. They are disproportionately loud and obnoxious without any real power gain. I think a lot of it has to do with the the speed of the rpm and the nasty high pitched tone. The problem with young kids is that they think that noise automatically goes hand in hand with power. Not realising that very often their bikes actually slower after the exhausts have either been messed with or changed because they have not adjusted the air intake and or re-jetted.

The beauty of hindsight,in all fairness we have all been there.(!6/18 year old.)I remember my first BSA D14 Bantam we used to take the baffle out because it used to oil up so fast, wish I had it now 100 mls per gallon.
