| Because you have also mentioned Kuryakyn make can I just say that the stock bar weights can not work with the original Kuryakyn grips & throttle boss when fitted together. | |

| Ah ok mate I have found the contoured throttle boss on www.motorcycle-superstore.com priced at about £11- + P & P. I will probably order the chinese grips without points but will fone Jon at Metric first for price & advice etc... | |

| I will just add that the Kuryakyn grips are better quality than the Chinese ones. However if I was buying again I would buy the Chinese ones without a doubt as I was to say the least well F#cked off with the price difference when the Chinese ones came to light. Buy the Chinese ones Pete, I have examined Marcins grips & would have been extremely pleased if I had of received those ones as they are very good. | |

| Yup...thumbs up for rip off's :) They lasted a year, survived cutting away from bar (left one), rubber grips like crazy, it's soft. Chrome keeps on shining. Ah....I just remembered...!!!!! How could I forget that, giving someone buying advice! I did have an issue with them... I had a problem with throttle sticking. Initially I thought I messed up cables but later on I found that the internal throttle assembly - the plastic bit where you attach cables to, was ever so slightly thicker than the stock one. Saying that, half an hour later and a bit of sand paper, they were perfect. | |

| I had no problems fitting the Chinese grips and didn't have to make any adjustments, (09 model) so maybe the throttle housing is slightly wider internally on later models?, on the Kuryakyn ones being better quality, but you'd only notice if you have both pairs together to compare (like I did with Dave's at the Ace Cafe ) | |

| On monday i ordered some stainless allen screws for my grips as the original one's were not long enough for the Kuryakyn throttle boss (& bar end weights to match) i bought from Metric Cycles for the chinese grips i bought. The order left my laptop at 2-30pm & arrived here at 9-15am today(tuesday), now thats what i call express delivery!. Westfield Fasteners were the folk i ordered from & they will sell you 1 or 1000, nut's, bolts, washers, allen bolts or screws etc.... I would recommend them to anyone on the forum as a very satisfied customer indeed! | |

| Oh by the way the chinese grips are 3mm metric thread & the Kuryakyn ones are an american thread in I think AF or such so anyone wanting to put the larger throttle boss or the bar end weights will need replacements, 4 x 16mm & 4 x 20mm long & you may have to take some of the outer diameter of the bolts off, I did mine in my electric drill with a hand file, as the heads are too large for the weights fixing holes but do it a little at a time else you'll make them too small. This gave me pleasure to do today as my head is not in a happy place but after doing this I felt much better for a while. | |

| Hi Sim, when you did your grip swap how did you go on with the cables as there are no adjusters at the bar end only at the engine end where there is very little space to work. Sorry if this seems a daft question but i get the feeling another tank off is wanted just after i put it back on yesterday! | |

| Hi Peter, There is a cable adjuster at the bar end, It's a plastic adjuster with a thumb wheel right at the switch housing | |

| Finding this site a good way to relieve anxiety. Last night I was tinkering with the bike and decided to remove the long screw from the end weight as is was damaged and needed a bit of TLC. Not knowing much about these things was totally dismayed when I heard a little metallic tinkle rumble down the inside of the handle bar. Thinking this was now going to cost me and there would have to be a major dismantling of the bike. Worried somewhat; started reading threads here until I came across this one. Understanding how something works is reassuring and this morning using a very stiff wire with a 90 degree tab I was able to slide the rubber bung out. I then taped up a very strong magnet to the end of the wire, slid it into to handle bar and "Click" - back in business! Thanks to those in the know and best of all a great cost free lesson. | When I fitted my new end weights, I tightened two nuts together at the end, then Loctited them to make sure that I couldn't undo the bolt too much. Worked a treat !! " /> | |
