Tyre recommendations for a newbie please - Volusia 800

Hi

I know this topic has been covered in previous questions, but I'd like a bit of advice on tyres please.

I've just bought an '01 Volusia 800 which is currently shod with a pair of Bridgstone Exedra (G 702 front, G 703 rear).  The front is fine but the back is shot.  I'd like to go for a pair of whitewalls, but will always opt for function over style.  I appreciate I'll probably have to change both so that I a matched pair.

Any advice on the best of the current bunch?

Metzlere mem8800 seem to be where current money is headind. Main thing is to remember that it is a cruiser so in all honesty any of the aftermarket ones will be well upto the task 
. They all have loads of grip and loads of planted rubber for the ride she is an are all well upto to job

I love the Michelin Commander 2 - no whitewall variety though......
