Move the throttle cables?

Just wondering if this has been done or even possible... Been looking around for a nice shiny set of chrome switch housings for my 02 Rauder 800 but can only find ones for newer models.... from what I can tell they are the exact same except for the throttle cables...

Mine come out the bottom and the newer ones come out the back... is it possible to move mine so that they are like the newer ones?

Oh I'd like to know that too...hate mine.

If I can find a cheap housing I'm almost tempted to buy a set and test it out..

If its cheap it would be worth trying it because the cables will not be a problem but lets not forget that it is a cover and you may find that they have moved the internal bits about a bit or mounted them differently so you may have a problem but for some people that would be easy to move stuff around if needed but for some not so easy. I would definitely not let the cables put me off just the possible other internally mounted stuff  but I am not one to fiddle with such stuff

Everything I've seen to date suggests that the housing internals mount the same... the only change is the position of the cables.  This is something I'm going to put on the back burner for now but I'll keep an eye out for a housing at one of the pick and pull yards around my area... when I get one I'll post if it's possible... would be nice to "Chrome" it up instead of the OEM aluminum one..

Yes It would be a nice add on for sure, just a shame that the housing changes for different years. I have just been looking at different year internals and can't see a lot of difference & I think it would be doable but how easily is another question when it is being replaced.
